Project Spotlight: DaVinci Bellaforte Slate Installation

The Elite Team completed a gorgeous DaVinci Bellaforte slate roof!

Roofing might not seem like a glamorous job, but we tend to disagree here at Elite Roofing. We love getting the chance to make homeowners’ dreams into reality by building them a spectacular new roof that will stand the test of time!

Take, for instance, today’s Project Spotlight, a Colorado home on which we installed beautiful DaVinci Bellaforte slate tile. The homeowners wanted a new roof that would cut an impressive aesthetic profile while still being highly functional. Slate was clearly the best option for this, and while installing slate can be a tricky process, the Elite Roofing team came through in fine style! Let’s take a closer look at this project.

Background and clients

Our clients for this project were homeowners in Longmont, CO, around 45 minutes north of Downtown Denver. A first time Elite Roofing client, they were referred to us by one of our own project managers and liked what they saw in our previous roofing work along the Front Range. Their home was in need of a brand new roof, and for this roof replacement, they wanted a roofing solution that would be long-lasting and durable while adding beauty to their home. Ultimately, they wound up selecting DaVinci Bellaforte slate tile for the project.

Why DaVinci Bellaforte slate tile?

Most homeowners these days choose some form of asphalt shingle for their roof. And while modern asphalt shingles are a great residential roofing option, they’re far from the only material available on the market!

Slate tile has actually been in use for centuries, though it wasn’t until later in the 19th century that it became more widely available. Although slate tile is priced a bit higher than asphalt shingles, composite materials, such as the DaVinci Bellaforte slate used in this project, have helped to reduce the material cost of slate while still providing the same impressive benefits.

Durability and longevity

The average asphalt shingle roof lasts around 15-20 years from when it’s first installed, depending on maintenance. Meanwhile, slate tile—both real and synthetic—has an expected lifespan of 50 years or more! That’s because slate is extremely durable and resistant to all forms of inclement weather, including Colorado’s frequent hail storms.

An impressive profile

When it comes to making a statement with a roof, it’s hard to beat the impressive aesthetic qualities of slate. Slate tile adds an extremely attractive, yet somewhat rugged natural beauty to a roof that’s very difficult to replicate with any other material. This combination of form and function adds a lot of value and personality to a home.

The DaVinci difference

DaVinci has ranked among the leading manufacturers of composite roofing materials for almost 20 years. They create some of the most beautiful and functional roofing tiles available on the market, including slate and shake materials that are each stunning in their own way.

Completing the project

With the vision set on a new DaVinci Bellaforte slate roof, it was time for the Elite Roofing team to make this dream a reality. We pulled a Longmont Roofing Permit for the project and set to work, starting with a teardown of the existing roof.

Tile installation is always a unique challenge. Compared to other popular roofing materials, like asphalt shingles, installing a slate tile roof takes much more care and precision. Of course, tile is also a much heavier material, making it more time-consuming and labor-intensive to bring up and down from the roof!

In the end, though, our skilled roofers successfully completed the installation. Despite the challenges, installing a tile roof is also uniquely rewarding—seeing all of that hard work and care pay off in the form of a breathtaking new roof is truly something special! And of course, we were happy to see these homeowners delighted with their new roof.
